I wrote this book, Idea Catcher for Kids: An Inspiring Journal for Young Writers, to help spark the imaginations of young writers and to encourage them to express in their writings some of the rich ideas that are within them. All you need to do is respond to the storyline questions asked below.

Please considering sharing your written responses to the questions with us, some of which will be posted in this web site's BLOG With Bill Zimmerman section.

On a regular basis we'll add new storyline prompts for you, too.

Through some miracle you are able to understand the thoughts and conversations of your favorite pet or animal. The creature's thoughts and words astonish you - they even shock and inform you. They provide you with the rare chance to see the world in an entirely new light. What stories do you hear the creatures tell? What do you learn (even about yourself)?

The smell of smoke wakes you up. A fire has broken out in your home and you have only five minutes to escape. Amidst the panic and confusion you rush to save your three most treasured possessions. What do you take? Why did you choose these?

Imagine that you could create the happiest day in the world. What would such a golden day be like?

Your best friend believes fervently in reincarnation, or the passage of the soul at death into another body, whether that's another human body or the body of another living creature such as a bird or bee. What are some of the different lives her soul has filled over the centuries?
