What Would You Say to ET?

I read a front-page piece in the May 30, 2005 Washington Post about a new giant telescope being developed by the SETI Institute that will be so powerful that it will be able to look at more stars in a year or two than we've have in the past 45 years. With its antennas, it hopes to pick up any messages that might be sent to us from extraterrestrial cultures. The thought of ET cultures sending us messages thrills me and makes me wonder who or what forms of life live in other parts of our universe. Are they friendly? Are they more intelligent than us? Can they help us or show us how to live in a more peaceful world that could be filled with love and caring and not war and hate.
And I wonder, if I had the power, what kind of messages would I want to send back to them? What about you? What kind of message would you send or do you think our country should be sending to the hundred billion galaxies in the universe. What should we signal? Write to me/bill
